Radioimmunoassays and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISAs)

The use of these highly sensitive assays in human disease has virtually exploded in the two past decades. They can be used to detect the levels of a given antibody or  hormone in human serum, and they are extremely sensitive methods of detecting low levels of autoantibodies.
