HLA antibody testing part 23

Testing at the time of transplant

Absence of donor-spesific HLA antigen, especially in high titer, has generally been considered  a prerequisite for successful transplantation, and at a minimum, a negative pretransplant crossmatch remain desirable. However, below these higher antibody levels exists a spectrum of antibody specifities and strengths with variable clinical effects, potentially affecting a substantial proportion of waitlisted individuals with broad antibody specifities.
