Adults and children can be listed for a deceased donor kidney at more than one transplant center and this occurs most commonly when their transplant doctors are concerned that if may be difficult to find a suitable kidney. In some situations, your child may be placed on the deceased donor waiting list "on hold" even if your child has a potential living donor. This allows your child to begin to accumulate waiting time on the list just in case their living donor becomes ineligible for any reason.
