Considerations in the potentially infected haemodialysis patient
Observations:
- The patient has arrived more than 0,5 kg below their dry weight
- Respirations are either <10 or >25 per minute
- Blood pressure at the beginning of dialysis or during the session is <100mmHg systolic or significantly reduced for them
- Pulse is <50 or >110 beats per minutes or significantly different to usual observations
- Temperature is<35,5ºC or >37,1ºC
- Observed rigours
- Oxygen saturations are>95% on air
- Blood sugar level is>7,7 mmol/L (in non diabetic's)
