Nutrition targets for people with chronic kidney disease and eGFR> 30ml/min/1.73m2 :
- Protein: 0.75-1.0g/kg/day (no restriction necessary)
- Salt: No greater than 100 mmol/kg/day (or2.3g sodium or 6 g salt/day)
Avoid salt substitutes that contain high amounts of potassium salts
- Phosphat: No restriction necessary
- Potassium: If persistent hyperkalemia is present, restricting intake and avoiding foodstuffs high in potassium
- Fluid: drink water to satisfy thirst
- Carbonate beverages: Avoidance is preferable
